Jeanie Mark

Jeanie grew up in Elkhart Indiana along with 10 other siblings. She was number ten in the pecking order, and had a twin sister, Janie, until she lost her to an auto accident at the age of seven. Her brothers were born last of the group which left her growing up with the boys. Her father was of Chinese descent and cooked mornings at Ponderosa Steak House and evenings at a local Italian restaurant every day. Her mother of Irish descent stayed home taking care of the children and household. Life was simple and free with not much as far as possessions. Still…life was great being poor in this very large family.
Jeanie graduated from Elkhart Memorial High School in 1977. She received a four year art scholarship from Columbus Collage of Art and Design, but declined to seek a career in helping others through massage and bodywork. She began to work on her father at the age of eleven and took turns with her brother, Johnny, working on him every day after school for the gratification of helping their father feel better. Her father taught her how to massage the back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands and feet because that was where his problems were. After a basic massage course at a local YMCA, Jeanie at age 15 was giving full body massages to women at the health club. During her high school years, teachers would seek her out in study hall to help them with their tight shoulders and headaches in their teachers lounge. Things were different then.
At age fourteen her father taught her the martial arts and she later became a black belt under other masters of the arts. Jeanie loved the martial arts and became fluent in Chinese Kenpo, Tae Kwan Do, Gung Fu, Okinawan Goju and a few weapons. At the age of nineteen, she became certified with Juko Kai International and a lifetime member of this federation. After traveling to IN, MI, Ill and NC teaching and demonstrating the martial arts in schools, clinics and for special events… she left home and moved to NJ with hopes and dreams for a happy future in the martial arts and owning a clinic of self defense for women. Upon making this decision, she realized how the martial arts is somewhat linked to massage / bodywork by the way that it involves the body for its strength, leverage, balance and execution. Both have a very spiritual connection and in many ways prevent the body from breaking down. This is necessary because physical labor is very taxing on a therapist that works directly on the body.
Instead of opening a clinic for woman’s self-defense, Jeanie decided to follow her other passion…the art of massage and bodywork. She became certified in massage therapy in 1989. In 2005 she opened her own practice located in Millville listed as Euphoria (609-501-2125) and registered as Experience One, LLC.
She continues to help people of this area and as far as North Jersey and Pennsylvania. She also has clients that travel on business to NJ that seek her out for this specialized therapy.Over the course of 20 years working out of salons, day spas and local gyms, she decided to expand her education traveling to CA, UT and ILL to learn Push therapy and was certified in May of 2010. Jeanie travels west annually to receive advanced workshops in Push Therapy. Push Therapy is a relatively new modality that was developed about ten years ago by founder Michael Takatsuno. This specialized form of muscle therapy was specifically developed to eliminate pain originating from chronic tension in soft tissue. By bringing the body closer to its natural posture, natural movement and mobility becomes more effortless without stress on the body. This process allows for permanent change and lasting relief from pain.
Jeanie has helped many people out of chronic pain due to chronic tension in their muscles. The muscles can easily be released in just a few visits and chronic tension removed permanently. The results are often immediate within the first session and the client is very aware. This procedure causes lengthening in the muscle tissue causing the body alignment to shift therefore taking the load and stress off the rest of the body. When muscles are contracted all the time it becomes “chronic passive tension” This is a contracted muscle at rest…yes…while you are sleeping or just being still. Many people have this condition and there is no reason why your muscles should be contracted when you’re not using them. Push Therapy is not massage. There are no lotions or oils applied and disrobing is NOT required. Comfortable clothing such as workout apparel is all and a session last approximately 90 minutes.
Push Therapy offers more benefits than massage therapy. It offers lasting relief from chronic muscular pain. As clients follow the Push protocols, the results could last a very long time or indefinitely as our bodies adapt to its healthier posture. Jeanie’s clients receive more than just treatments. This program involves; self treatment, core strengthening exercises and mobility training which help hold the new posture and prevent the tension from returning. By adapting to a healthier posture our bodies work less…then perform better when needed. It is trading poor posture habits for healthy new ones keeping our bodies supple and strong. This whole program allows the client to take charge of their own healing by bringing them into their body. Most are willing to change how they use their bodies when they realize that they lost a large part of their mobility over the years and by understanding that collected tension will only get worse and that our body has the ability to remarkably change from a painful point. As they understand how a contracted muscle will compress their joints, restrict their mobility, cause pain in their soft tissue and affect their daily lives they become more open to helping themselves. Jeanie has been helping people for a long time with deep tissue massage but most of her clients have switched to Push because that is what helps them most. Push is not an on going long lasting treatment program. A maintenance program periodically is set-up for each individual needs after their body is free from chronic tension. Push therapy is life changing!
Over the years Jeanie has enjoyed designing kitchens and bath for Home Depot and waitressing at the Wind Jammer Restaurant in 1978 in Vineland. While giving massages at the local Bridgeton YMCA she was also teaching martial arts. She married and had three beautiful daughters, Jaina and Cori, twins, and Angelica who is presently “Miss Sea Shore Line” and will run for Miss NJ in June of 2012. My twin daughters each are enjoying raising my grandchildren Alaina, 17 months and a grandson, Domenek 3 months.
Jeanie has traveled outside of the US and has visited Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Aruba, Mexico, Barbados and Hawaii and has traveled to several states here in the US. She looks forward to going to Yosemite’s Scenic Wonders in the near future. She is very busy with life’s demands, but always seem to find time to get away with her significant other, Ron. Jeanie says "everywhere is her favorite place when she is with him."
Jeanie enjoyed raising her daughters... three great opportunities! She loves holiday dinners with the growing family, working in her yard or reading during quiet times. She attends a gym with newly found best friend and heart adopted mother “Peggy”. Helping people out of muscular pain has given her an amazing awareness of her gift and calling…but never has she lost sight of where she comes from…Our Creator. Her passion for art and design, the martial arts, the art of massage / bodywork and Push Therapy are all linked together somehow in a spiritual way with her work.
Her parents once told her that “You are the creator” by which this means…That we all have some control of our destiny by way of the decisions that we make…and always make wise decisions or single out the best one! Who Jeanie is today is because of all that she has experienced in her life and career.. It brings humble content to her passion for life.
Jeanie says, "Good karma always helps us through the path by which we seek to take. And when loving yourself…You are never in the wrong place…Love what you do and happiness follows."
