All Aboard The Mystery Bus
For a day of Fun
What a great day we had recently on our April mystery day trip!
Our passengers were given the statement that they all had probably been where we were going BUT had never done what we were going to do. We were right! Our motorcoach made its way over the Delaware Memorial Bridge with many of the folks telling us where they thought they were headed. One of the clues given was What did Farfel say? The answer "Chocolate. " In about 2 ˝ hours we arrived at our destination - Hershey Pa and the world of Hershey Chocolate.
Having arrived ahead of our time schedule, we were able to take the Chocolate Ride before starting our day’s schedule events. Following our ride, the group met and began our first adventure for the day...creating our own chocolate bar. Our names had been submitted to Hershey so when we arrived each person received a ticket with their name on the bar code. Everyone adorned themselves with an apron, hair net and latex gloves prior to proceeding into the candy area.
Step one took us to computer screens where the bar code is read bringing up each person’s name. From there everyone just followed the messages on the computer as they began to create their own candy bar. Everyone followed the production line and watched step by step as their very own creation rolled down the line. Everyone watched their candy bar as it went down the production line as it added whatever they wanted nuts, sprinkles, raspberry filling, etc. Next each person created their own wrapper...Giving everyone different options as to what their own creation could be.
After working hard on the assembly line, everyone received a lunch and dessert voucher for the food court. Lunch was very enjoyable with everyone having a choice of anything from soup to pizza to fresh made sandwiches and of course topped off with a hot fudge sundae or any other dessert of their choice.
Following lunch, everyone took their seats for our Hershey’s Chocolate Tasting Adventure. This adventure consisted of a guided, interactive, multimedia discussion of chocolate lore. How interesting this adventure was as we started with chocolate milk and ended having learned and tasted how to smell, listen and taste the various types of chocolate. Did you know that when tasting chocolate you can pick up different flavor notes of chocolate from citrus, woodsy, nutty, buttery and more. How interesting when you stop to think about it as you enjoy chocolate! Following our class, everyone received an official Masters Degree in Chocolate Tasting from Hershey’s University.
The final event for the day was to enjoy Hershey’s Really Big 3-D Show which was a magical journey through Hershey’s entertaining history where Hershey’s product characters jump off the big screen and come to life.
A fun day was enjoyed by all...enjoying CHOCOLATE! So as you can see whether you drive to Hershey or join us you will definitely have a great day and lots of fun!
